Weight loss and detox
Here is something that can work like a dream for your body – Add a detox diet to your weight loss management plan. While the weight management plan goes about reducing the pounds from your body, the detox plan helps you in having a fairer complex, boosts your immunity and gives your body strength.
If at all there is a minus, it is in the fact that some times detoxing could affect the supply of nutrients to the body, which is so important for the body.
Let us explain.
Detoxing though has its own benefits and of course, its own style of working. When you are on a detox diet, you will find that you are told to cut down on the fat and the calorie intake. A lot of emphasis will be on intake of fruits and intake of plenty of water. By taking these, you end up ensuring that your body is cleansed off all toxins, ensuring that bloating and other health conditions are reduced.
Foods like dairy products, wheat, eggs, caffeine offer a good source of nutrients. And while detox diets, at least most of them emphasize on cutting them down, experts agree that in doing so, you could put your body at a risk of losing out on some nutrients. One of the problems here is balancing things around! You cannot overeat these foods because of their obvious minus points, but at the same time, you can’t miss out on them for too long.
This brings us to the point – Even if you were to add a detox diet to your weight loss management plan, you should do it conservatively; meaning over a short period of time. This will allow the diet to take its effect and yet your body will not be devoid of nutrients.
Remember – Your body itself has a natural detoxification process. So, why do you wish to add to the rigors by taking a detox diet? If you are able to strike the right balance, you wouldn’t necessarily have to take a detox diet anyways.
If your body starts feeling sluggish and if you wish to increase the energy levels of your body, there are quite a lot of things you can do.
For starters, get into the habit of eating fruits like apples, bananas, raisins, pineapple and there are a whole host of other fruits you can take. Vegetables like carrots, onion, leeks, broccoli and others are excellent additions to this mix too. You cannot lose anything by taking in lentils, beans, red kidney, and fresh fishes like cod, salmon, tuna and prawns.
Finally, if there is anything to avoid, it has to be the red meat, dairy products, eggs, unsavoury foods, and of course, the TOO POPULAR, alcohol.
If you are able to incorporate these things in your daily diet, weight loss along with cleansing off toxins is not going to be a mirage anymore.
